College Students Welcome to Grace!

College students, welcome to Grace! We want to be your home-church away from home! During the academic year, we meet as a group of students from JMU, Bridgewater, EMU and others on Thursdays nights at 7PM in the “Upper Room” (201) here at Grace. In addition to our Thursday night meetings, we have a new mentoring program, retreats and outreach opportunities geared towards the unique growth and development for college students and college people. Check the info out on these pages and our Facebook page and contact Mike Souder for more information at or 540.433.9244.  We can’t wait to meet you!

The mission of GCC is: To Love big, to grow deep, to go out.  Grace College exists to love college students and college age persons in a big way, to help them grow deep in their faith and to give them a vision and equip them for going out to share the good news of Jesus in word and action.
The vision of GCC is: To see thousands saved, healed and passionately following Jesus.   For Grace College, we want to see college students and college age persons saved, healed and passionately following Jesus and inviting others into this kingdom and way of life.  More specifically, we envision a room of a hundred+ college-age persons passionately engaged in meaningful relationships with one another, with Grace Covenant Church, with Jesus and intentionally taking the gospel to those around them in word and action.
We will focus on the students that participate in the general life and ministry of Grace Covenant Church.   We will reach out to and gather students from the local colleges and universities primarily through the relationships of those already participating in Grace Covenant and Grace College.

Worship – Honoring God and edifying the body of Christ by wholeheartedly offering our lives (spirit, mind, body) to Him (John 4:23-24; Romans 12:1).

Authentic Community – Growing deeper in Christ is transformational and life-changing resulting in authentic relationships marked by service and genuine care for one another. Caring for people and developing authentic relationships best occur in smaller groups (1 John 1:7; 1 Corinthians 15:-10).

Discipleship –Relational discipleship and focused training are essential for growing deeper in Christ and equipping believers to do His work (2 Timothy 2:2).

Outreach – “God so loved the world” – therefore, we love our neighbor and share the good news of Jesus in word and action to everyone, everywhere (Acts 1:8).

Ministry of the Holy Spirit – All growth and ministry in Christ occurs by God’s Spirit working in and through believers (2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Peter 4:10).

Generosity –God is good and lavishly generous – giving us an abundant life in Christ marked by unfailing love and extravagant grace. Our enthusiastic response is to also be loving, gracious, extravagant and generous to others (2 Corinthians 9:5-8).

Impartiality –God created and loves ALL people, showing no favoritism: all races, all cultures, all ages, in all walks of life; therefore we show compassion to all people, honoring each as created in His image (Acts 10:34-38).

Cultural Relevancy – We must be doctrinally true while intentionally engaging our culture. We value excellence, creativity, humility, honesty, and risk (1 Corinthians 9:19-23).

Good News Jesus

Seeing YOUR WORLD through Gospel Glasses – Grace College 2015-2016 Teaching Series

As a human being, there’s nothing more important than knowing your creator, The Creator.
As a young adult, it’s critical that you discover who you are and what you’re made for.
As a ministry, we (Grace College) are here to walk with you on this journey and to see you (and everyone you meet) saved, healed and passionately following Jesus Christ, the only one who can truly set us free.

This year, beginning on Thursday, September 3rd we’ll begin a 30+ evening hike together through the Gospel of Matthew considering what Jesus’ life and words meant to his first followers and even more, to you today. Each Thursday, we’ll look at the teachings of Jesus considering what it means to live the most rewarding and FULL life possible, the Christian life. Join us at 7:00pm on Thursdays for a dynamic evening of exploring the gospels and discussion and fun led by the multi-generational Grace College team.
